Gilla na Neamh Ó h-Uiginn

Gilla na Neamh Ó h-Uiginn, Irish poet, died 1349.

Gilla na Neamh was member of the Ó hUiginn family of poets and historians, based in Connacht.

His obit in the Annals of Ulster - sub anno 1346, a mistake for 1349 - states Gilla-na-naem Ua hUiginn; a poet the readiest, most pure-worded and most general in the arts of poetry that was in Ireland, died a fortnight before Easter, after gaining victory from world and from demon.

He seems to be the ancestor of Fercert Ó hUiginn, head of the family descended from Gilla na Neamh Ó h-Uiginn, who died in 1418.
